Forging Sourcing FAQs
How does GRDH Precision source forged parts from China?
We evaluate your part design and mechanical requirements, recommend the right forging process (open die, closed die or another route), identify and audit qualified Chinese forging shops, coordinate quotes and production orders, follow up on heat treatment and machining, and conduct pre-shipment quality inspection so you receive forged parts that meet your specification.
What forged materials can you source from China?
We source forgings in carbon steel, alloy steel and many stainless grades, along with selected superalloys. We match the material and heat treatment to your load, hardness and corrosion requirements, and verify the material certificate before shipment.
Do you audit the forging shops you source from?
Yes. Every forging shop is audited for manufacturing capability, equipment, quality management system (ISO 9001 and related certifications), relevant industry experience and project fit before we source from them.
What quality control do you provide on forged parts?
We coordinate dimensional inspection, material verification (mill certificates and traceability), surface and visual checks, non-destructive testing where required, and heat treatment verification. Pre-shipment inspection and quality documentation are standard before release of goods.
Can you coordinate heat treatment after forging?
Yes. We coordinate normalizing, quenching and tempering, and solution treatment and aging for stainless and precipitation-hardening grades, through controlled-atmosphere and high-temperature solution-treatment furnaces at qualified suppliers, with process records and hardness verification. Learn more about forging and heat treatment.
How long does it take to get a forging sourcing quote?
Send your drawing with material, quantity, mechanical and tolerance requirements. We review the design, identify suitable forging shops, and typically return a transparent, itemized sourcing proposal within 24–48 hours.
